About the Item
Bas Van Pelt for EMS/My Home, armchair, tubular metal and sisal armchair, the Netherlands, 1920s.
This classic armchair is designed by Bas Van Pelt and is executed with a sisal back and seat. The armrests too are covered with this natural material. The combination of the aged tubular frame and the aged grey sisal forms a striking combination that is original and shows the design ethos of van Pelt. Interesting detail is the bent back leg and above all, this chair is very comfortable to sit in and the sisal is very strong.
This chair shows signs of age and use but is in good condition.
