Huggable darling of the Postmodern office or living room. The K06 01 Aki chair by Toshiyuki Kita for Cassina adds a punch of comfortable style, informal and playful, yet capable of being perfectly professional all the while.
Ergonomic and angular design. Completely upholstered in burnt orange fabric, seat area consists of a slightly forward leaning vertically oriented ovoid cylinder. The padded and upholstered backrest protrudes up from the back of the seat and is rectangular in shape but ergonomically curved inwards on the left and right sides to "hug" the back of the seated person. Five-star die-cast aluminum base, coating with metallic grey color. Black plastic sliding supports. Frame constructed in tubular steel with elastic belts. Upholstery in polyurethane foam. Resin polyester wadding coupled with light velvet. Cover in burn orange colored fabric.
This chair is closely related to Kita's "Wink" chair, selected for the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York, among many others.
A design that responds to the needs of modern-day society and the rhythms of life in the era of the home office, where the technology is “always on”, as much in the home as it is in the work space. The objective was to create a mobile sitting-room in the form of a comfortable and dynamic armchair that could swivel through 360 degrees, while also being comfortable. Suited to many contexts, including the “soft contract” setting, this chair is also available with an arm-rest on either side, one of which can serve as a head-rest. Available in either leather or fabric covers, as well on castors.
