Eugen Schmidt four Dining/Conference Chair with White Leather Germany 1965

About the Item

Dining or conference chair by the German Achritect Eugen Schmidt, produced by ES-Eugen Schmidt Darmstadt 1965. Chromed metal frame, seat and back plywood bent dark stained, upholstered cover leather white, W 58 cm H 88 cm ST 46 cm. Re-upholstery requests, such as material and colour, can be fulfilled. Larger number available. The German furniture design by architect Eugen Schmidt is characterised by a unique design, which in its approach and design is very reminiscent of the designs of the American architect Charles Eames or the German architect Egon Eiermann, who all have a common characteristic and are found in the processing of plywood. As a chair variant, however, the execution and design of the Eugen Schmidt chair is unique and very elegant and casual in its appearance. The high backrest also makes the chair even more comfortable than the variant with the short backrest. The seat and back consist of two separate plywood shells that are glued together and accentuated by chrome-plated trim. The cantilevered chrome frame with integrated metal glides, cushioned by shock mounts, supports the laminated wood seat shell.
