From an important thirty year old New England collection of hand decorated pyrographic Arts & Crafts chairs
This is a beautiful pair of 19th century chairs hand decorated in a lovely "grapes and vine" pattern.
Both chairs are in solid and sturdy condition ready for many decades of future use. They are artfully hand incised with great pyrographic details.
Dimensions: 39" high and 16" wide and 16" deep
Seats 18" from floor
handmade, hand carved, stained and hand burned using pyrographic techniques

History of the Pyrography:
py·rog·ra·phy pi'rägr?fe/ noun is the art or technique of decorating wood or leather by burning a design on the surface with a heated metallic point. Pyrography was particular popular in America and Europe during the last quarter of the 19th century and first quarter of the 20th century.
