Hollywood Regency Faux Bois Cane Dining Armchair Bright Green Upholstery

About the Item

A beautiful wood faux bois armchair with cane back and bright green upholstered seat. A Hollywood Regency staple, faux bois furniture is a highly sought after finish among decorators and furniture aficionados. It’s a design that has stood the test of time. From the early 1900s to the present, it’s a style that will always remain a classic. This lovely armchair features a rounded cane back, accented with a fern leaf frame around it’s exterior. The arms are in the same pattern. Attached to the cane back, the arms seem to roll forward and affix to the square seat. The legs are our favorite. They remind us of a few of our Sherle Wagner pieces. (See our other listings for details.) They are carved to look like tree branches and give this piece a glamorous shape. The seat is upholstered in a bright green fabric. There is some discoloration to the fabric and would look fabulous reupholstered. The wood is covered in a muted red or mauve. Some chips and light scratching to the wood, however, the cane is in fantastic shape. This is a fantastic piece that would look great painted in a high lacquer finish such as bright blue, pink, or black. We’ve seen similar pieces in Elle Décor and Veranda Magazine. With the right fabric and updated paint, this chair will be the focal point in any space.
