About the Item

A rustic 18th century Swedish side chair, hand-carved in oak with a refined simplicity typical of early Scandinavian rural design. The chair features an open rectangular back with shaped crest and lower rails, a thick single plank seat, and square legs joined by turned from supports and plain stretchers. Its surface displays a beautifully weathered patina, with a trace of age and use that speak to its long domestic history. A charming example of Swedish provincial craftsmanship-functional, spare, and quietly elegant in its honest construction. Origin: Sweden, circa 1750 Materials: Oak
