Late 19th Century Swedish Stump Chair in Solid Pine

About the Item

Swedish stump chair manufactured from a hollowed tree trunk. The chair is primitive and has never been painted. The two bands going around the seat are hand wrought iron and are made to strengthen the construction in addition to being decorative details. The chair was manufactured from pine during the latter part of the 19th century. The seat also works as a lid and opens up to the storage space underneath the seat. The cut-out in the back is original and has been used as a handle. The chair is a genuine antique and will therefore have some minor imperfections. But nothing that affects the structure or overall usage. It has some minor dry cracks.
