Pair of 18th Century Spanish Style Ladder Back Painted Chairs with Rush Seats

About

Beautiful and rare pair of Spanish Colonial style ladderback chairs hand painted in red and gold. The wood from the structure is completely hand carved and the seating is handwoven rush. As you can see on the pictures, one of the backs of the chairs has been broken but never restaured which adds to the history of the item. We preferred to leave it in this condition because when you are facing the chairs it looks much more autentik as the paint is the original in the two chairs. Rush seats are stabile but do have an aged look consistent with their age and use. Dimensions: Width 48cm; depth 44 cm; total height 105 cm; seat height 44 cm.
