About the Item
Rare and unique pair of vintage Italian Mid-Century Modern bamboo or rattan and leather sling chairs attributed to designer Tito Agnoli for Bonacina, Italy, 1960s. In very good vintage condition. Leather has wrap around stitching and is dark coffee brown in color. Completely original with a minor professional repair on leather which is almost unnoticeable and simply adds to the beautiful character of these vintage chairs. These unique saddle chairs are attributed to Tito Agnoli for Bonacina. Lighting and furniture designer architect Tito Agnoli first studied industrial design and went on to intern with Gio Ponti and Carlo De Carli. He was prolific and experimental, always with an eye for luxury. Made by the Italian firm Vittorio Bonacina, in existence from the late 19th century and specializing in bamboo furniture. Chairs have normal wear and marks to the leather. These chairs are on display at the Gallery at 200 Lex at the New York Design Center.
