Pair of French Mid-Century Modern Dining / Side Chairs as Is Upholstery

About the Item

Pair of original French Modernist dining or side chairs featuring an open airy "X" designed frame with curved top reminiscent of the pagoda roofs of Far Eastern temples. Tall backs with open work detail create a dramatic and aesthetic negative space between the wood top and the upholstered seat. The two front legs are elegantly tipped with nickeled bronze sabots. The chairs are streamline, upscale, trendy and were built with great attention to detail. All chair frames are a variegated and toned, deep reddish brown mahogany, brick, oxblood, burnt sienna color. The original vintage cushion seats are upholstered in beige naugahyde and are torn as shown. The seats are removable for re-upholstery. Can be used as side chairs, office chairs, desk chairs, pull up chairs in a rustic Brooklyn loft, French Modern, Moderne, Italian design, Industrial, Traditional, Cubism, or Art Deco setting.
