The Tulu chair, designed by Kazuhide Takahama for Gavina in the 1970s, is an icon of industrial design that pioneered the innovative use of chromed steel rod. Technical details and design Innovation: Dino Gavina called it "the most beautiful chair designed entirely in industrial production in the postwar period" for its ability to exploit steel rod, which allows for much tighter curves than traditional tubing. Structure: Made of chromed steel rod with a padded seat and backrest (foam and synthetic wool) upholstered in fabric or velvet.
