Set of Four 18th Century Dutch Marquetry Side Chairs

About the Item

A superb set of four 18th century Dutch marquetry chairs each having elegant inlay throughout of birds, flowers and leaves. The curved moulded top rail leads down to the back supports sitting either side of the shapely back splat. Drop in tapestry seats, with inlaid shaped aprons below. Raised on elegant inlaid cabriole legs, united by a shaped 'H' stretcher. The chairs have two different tapestry seats so we feel they are from the same workshop and were used as pairs of side chairs in the house where they were placed. A very graceful set of chairs. Can be purchased as a pair.
