It is through this veritable piece of design history that Cassina expresses its exceptional wood-working mastery. Designed, but not realised, in 1940, by Charlotte Perriand during her time in Tokyo, this chair uses bamboo to revisit the famous LC4 chaise-longue. Its organic form, curvy and inviting, has been re-issued and is now available in teak, and well as bamboo wood. The seat of this recliner is made of twelve curved strips of wood while the joining elements are satin-finish brass studs. Adding mattresses for outdoor use provides dashes of colour to help furnish a veranda, terrace, or any other kind of outdoor space.

Now known as the 4 Chaise Longue à Reglage Continu, the LC4 chaise longue was originally introduced at the Salon d’Automne in 1929 by the designers Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand.
Since then the LC4 chaise has become one of the most iconic furniture designs of the 20th Century, with Cassina taking on production of the piece in 1965. This model of the chaise longue was made in 1998.
Constructed from a lightweight tubular steel frame, a signature of the designers’ collections, the chaise has been ergonomically designed, following the contours of the body to ensure ultimate support and comfort.
Sitting on a steel base in a painted black finish, the chaise has a mechanism which allows it to be reclined further or put in a more upright position.
