Dutch Recamier Mahogany Chaise with Satinwood Marquetry Inlay, circa 1825


Stylized mahogany chaise settee handcrafted in Holland during the first quarter of the 19th century and inlaid with satinwood marquetry. Being offered undressed to show the age and nearly complete originality. Restored and ready for your upholsterer. Marquetry inlay consists of intertwining flowers including tulips, chrysanthemum, daffodil overflowing from cornucopia. Legs are carved with acanthus leaves and have paw feet. Lovely as a fainting couch at the foot of a bed.
