Danish Fritz Hansen Model 1490 Channel Back Lounge Chair, 1940s

About the Item

Classic Danish large-scale club or lounge chair model 1490 by Fritz Hansen. Similar to famed model 1518 but with a higher backrest and a straighter front which provides for a very cool look. The legs are very cool and more of a Art Deco style where this model normally has simple square legs. Super comfortable with coil springs in both backrest and seat cushion. Very solid and sturdy construction on a frame of beechwood. The later added midcentury style wool fabric remains in good clean usable condition. We offer re-upholstery services on this chair at a very competitive cost.
