Wimbledon-Furniture is delighted to offer for sale this very rare model absolutely stunning handmade in England and of the finest quality original 1920s Chesterfield Gentleman’s club sofa Please note the delivery fee listed is just a guide, for an accurate quote please send me your postcode and I’ll price it up for you Where to begin, firstly as mentioned this sofa genuinely is the finest quality around, it weighs triple that of the modern equivalent, the frame is solid oak, the base is coil sprung and the cushions feather filled, the leather is fully aniline hand dyed English hide, its thick strong and subtle. This model is very rare, I’ve only ever had one before, the whole thing is allot taller than normal from the woot board to the arms, the stud work and with of the pillared arms is narrow in the Edwardian manor, the arms are sloped backwards, everything lends itself to a much more comfortable seat and a grander look and feel This sofa is being offered with the original unrestored upholstery, the other one of these I had recolored, I have included a picture in this listing of how that one looked, if you’re interested in having this one recolored to match please ask me for a quote I will also have in the next few weeks the matching three seaters to this two-seater which will be fully restored and recoloured Dimensions Height 77.5cm Width 174cm Depth 86cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
