Richard Schultz Daybed manufactured by Knoll International, USA 1950s

About the Item

Extremely rare daybed designed in circa 1958 by Richard Schultz for Knoll International. Around the same time, Florence Knoll & Charles Niedringhaus were designing their own set of convertible sofas at Knoll; perhaps this was Schultz’s iteration of the model 703 omitting its removable backrest. Steel-reinforced frame with tilting cane headboard and walnut legs. The body is upholstered in the original Alexander Girard striped fabric made from 90% sisal and 10% cotton. Original Knoll manufacturing labels to the underside Structurally very sound. Excellent condition.
