Juan Montoya Custom Daybed

About the Item

Custom upholstered long divan or chaise lounge designed by Juan Montoya for a published interiors project completed in 1991 in Georgetown DC. Fabricated and upholstered by Ken Flam, raised on an upholstered base, a loose cushioned seat flanked to either side by padded channel stitched distinctive trapezoidal end supports reminiscent of ancient Inca stone architectural forms, all in an ivory ribbed Clarence House fabric and accompanied by four matching long pillows. Measures: H 30.50, W 93, D 32 in. Internal length 68 inches. Original upholstery is clean and usable but would benefit from recovering, Provenance: Juan Montoya Interior, Private Collection, Washington, D.C. Literature: Featured in the January 1991 issue of Interior Design magazine and the book "Juan Montoya", ed. Benjamin Villegas, Villegas Editores, 1998, pp. 64-71.
