About the Item
1940s Bentwood Debrecen Spindle dining chairs – Set Of Seven
1940s Bentwood Debrecen Spindle dining chairs – Set Of Seven. It is hard to be precise about the origin of these chairs as little history is known, but what we do know is at the beginning of the 20th century two producers existed J&J Kohn and Mundus. Both produced chairs in various factories throughout the Austro Hungarian Empire. These chairs are an early model probably 1940s from Debrecen or Mundus, we know it is a Mundus model because we have seen marked examples. Either way, beautiful surviving and fascinating chairs, please note there are minor differences in detail between the chairs, a harlequin set. All our chairs pass through our own workshop where they are gently serviced and sensitively restored, we only sell vintage of excellent quality. Seat height 47cm
WORKSHOP REPORT
Our workshop team inspect every product and carry out any needed repairs to ensure that everything leaves us serviced and maintained ready for many more years of life. All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use and we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.
