Four Chrome with Lucite Giancarlo Piretti for Castelli Plia Folding Chairs
About the Item
Probably the most attractive folding chair available. The Plia chair designed by Giancarlo Piretti in 1967 was introduced at the Fiera del Mobile in Milan as "The Symbol of a New Era focused on plastic". With the Plia chair Piretti, has revolutionized the concept of the folding chair, and his study on the "three-disc hinge" is considered a stroke of genius. The combination of chromed steel frame with acrylic polypropylene has paved the way for Plia which has become a cult classic. Now part of the permanent collection at MOMA.
This set has excellent chrome frames. Some scuffs on the lucite as expected from use in and out of storage.
