A rare and exquisite set of six 'Libellula' (Dragonfly) chairs, designed by the Italian architect Giovanni Carini for Planula during the 1970s. This set is a first edition, showcasing the original technical details and finishes that defined this iconic model. True to its name, the 'Libellula' chair is an exercise in extreme lightness and structural elegance. The frame is constructed from a thin, high-resistance white-lacquered steel rod that traces a continuous, ethereal silhouette in space. The seat and backrest are formed by a single, ergonomic shell upholstered in its original fabric, which appears to "hover" within the metal exoskeleton.
