Large Set of Antique Solid Oak French Monastery Dining Chairs Up to 42 Pieces
About the Item
A beautiful large set of 10 dining chairs that originate in a Northern French monastery.
The chairs were made in the finest quality European summer oak in the late 1800s. The set presented here has 10 chairs, but we have 42 pieces available. The chairs were located in the monasteries mess hall and have been used for over 150 years. The chairs have turned legs jointed by eight turned stretches and a solid oak shaped seat. The chairs originally had a wax finish, but the wax has faded over the last decade. The chairs were gently sanded you ensure a soft touch and a great light wood color. Because of the sturdy construction with eight stretchers, the chairs are very solid to use and move around. The sheer size of the set makes it attractive for a small restaurant or café. The chairs can be bought as a set of 10 pieces, as a whole, or any other desired number of chairs.
