A charming set of 8 French 19th century Empire style barrel back mahogany dining chairs.
French, circa 1880.
Constructed of solid mahogany with a French Empire influence, the sweeping curved barrel backs being flanked by carved swan necks.
Upholstered in a neutral linen with an individual nailed brass studwork trim and drop in seats raised on turned and carved front legs and splay legs to the rear.
This rare set of decorative chairs are in excellent condition having recently been French polished using traditional methods and re-upholstered in linen.
These chairs are very comfortable having the barrel shaped backs.
