Set of 8 Rosewood Steen Eiler Rasmussen Dining Chairs by Søborg, Denmark 1960s

About the Item

A rare set of eight Danish Modern dining chairs designed by Steen Eiler Rasmussen and manufactured by Søborg Møbelfabrik in Denmark during the 1960s. Crafted from beautifully figured rosewood, the chairs feature Rasmussen's elegant architectural design with sculptural curved backrests, an organically shaped central back splat, and finely executed exposed finger joints at the crest rail. The original dark brown leather seats have developed a beautiful patina, complementing the warm tones and striking grain of the rosewood. The wooden frames have been professionally refinished and are in excellent vintage condition. The leather upholstery shows only light wear consistent with age. All chairs are structurally sound and ready for everyday use. A complete set of eight in this quality is increasingly difficult to find and represents an outstanding example of Danish cabinetmaking from the 1960s. A valid CITES permit is included.
