1950's Original Fully Restored Danish Clam Chair in Natural Sheepskin

About the Item

1950's original fully restored Danish clam chair in natural sheepskin by Skive Møbelfabrik The “Clam” chair is by some considered as one of the most attractive chair designs among the Scandinavian mid-century designs and the original design has been attributed to diffrent designers over the years - most recently to Arnold Madsen who is believed to have designed the original chair in 1944. The daring design influenced a few other manufactores to develop other chairs with similar characteristic organic shapes but less clam shaped seat and backrests. This chair was originally crafted at Skive Møbelfabrik in the 1950's and has been fully restored by our skilled cabinetmakers and upholsteres bringing it from a worn out chair into a lively very comfortable chair full of personallity. Seat and backrest has been reupholstered with natural white/cream colored sheepskin, and brown leather bottons that match the color of the round bended tanned armrests and legs. A very rare piece.
