This generous lounge chair designed by Folke Ohlsson for DUX is remarkably comfortable. It shares qualities with the womb chair by Eero Saarinen but has angular lines rather than the curvy organic form of the womb chair. The upholstered body is supported by an external wood frame and the deep seat pitch, firm lumbar support and adjustable headrest all combine for a very relaxing seat.
This is an uncommon early example of the design with oak legs unlike later chairs which used teak or birch. The chair has been restored internally with new foam while the original fabric (a terrific nubby wool) has been cleaned and retained..
