Hans Wegner Early Papa Bear Chair by AP Stolen Original Fabric 1951, Stamped

About the Item

Collectors set of two labeled, stamped very early Papa Bear AP 19 chairs (number 13+16) Made in Denmark, Designer Hans J. Wegner, A.P. Stolen, around 1951. Priced as a pair; we will sell them as single chairs also, please inquire. Wonderful set of original AP 19 chairs with original fabric in good to very good condition, ready to being used. These pieces are from the first production and bear the production numbers 13 and 16 as well as the makers stamp. The fabric is in very nice condition, shows light signs of use. We have had the upholstery cleaned and the (seat) cushions refilled with the original material that they used back then. The trimming around the wooden arm-rest was also repaired professionally by our upholsterer with the original fabric we obtained from the cushions. This is a rare opportunity to own a piece of history as well as some of the most iconic and comfortable chairs ever created. The green/orange and purple/blue fabric is a matching combination in colors (complementary color-scheme in fact) and they look great as a pair. The wood arms are teak and the legs and frame-work is oak. There are some marks or nicks to the undersides of the wood legs. Overall in very good, sturdy vintage condition.
