Lounge chair model 110 in leather and rosewood by Illum Wikkelsø for Søren Willadsen, Denmark, 1950s. This well-designed armchair shows an unusual elegance and great eye for detail, combined with outstanding craftsmanship, which is characteristic for the work of Illum Wikkelsø. The organically shaped wing back chair has excellent comfort, which is emphasized by the luxurious curved arms. Due to the wingback the chair provides a pleasant shelter for its user. The solid wooden base runs smoothly along with these lines and is positioned inwards, which creates a floating character. Beautiful wood-joints are visible on the legs. The black leather is the original upholstery of this chair. The leather is in good condition. Unfortunately there is a tear in the seating. This could be restored, but always be visible. Therefore we advise reupholstery. This is possible in any kind of leather or fabric of your choice. We have a second item available for reupholstery. So this rare piece could become a pair.
