Pair of armchairs, beech, metal, fabric, France, 1950s These armchairs strongly remind of the iconic chairs created by the talented French designer René Gabriel (1899-1950), who is known for his reconstructivist approach to furniture design. The design embodies an evolved rustic character with great quality of elegance. This is discernible in the wooden frame which is based on a construction of sharp horizontal and vertical lines. The chair can be extended forwards that transforms the chair into a lounger, inviting the sitter to have a pleasant and enjoyable time while sitting on it. The armchair is an elegant and well-proportioned piece within a simplistic construction that allows it to fit seamlessly into any interior.
