1970s Comfortable Italian Lounge Chair by Giuseppe Munari
Located in Weesp, NL
Beautiful and extremely comfortable late 1960's early 1970's lounge chair designed by Giuseppe Munari for Poltrone Munari. Original upholstery in great condition. The chair will be shipped insured overseas in a custom made wooden crate. Cost of transport to the US is crate included. Italy is a world trendsetter, and has produced some of the greatest furniture designers in the world, such as Achille Castiglioni, Gio Ponti, and Ettore Sottsass. Italian interior design in the 1900s was particularly well-known and grew to the heights of class and sophistication. At first, in the early 1900s, Italian furniture designers struggled to create an equal balance between classical elegance and modern creativity, and at first, Italian interior design in the 1910s and 1920s was very similar to that of French art deco styles, using exotic materials and creating sumptuous furniture. However, Italian art deco reached its pinnacle under Gio Ponti, who made his designs sophisticated, elegant, stylish and refined, but also modern, exotic and creative. In 1926, a new style of furnishing emerged in Italy, known as "Razionalismo", or "Rationalism". The most successful and famous of the Rationalists were the Gruppo 7...

Pair of Dordrecht Chairs by Wim Van Gelderen for Spectrum, the Netherlands 1950s
By Wim van Gelderen, 't Spectrum
Located in Antwerp, BE
Dordrecht Chairs by Wim van Gelderen for 't Spectrum, the Netherlands. Naive, modernist, vintage armchairs in a light-colored oak. They pair beautifully with the "elephant grey" textured fabric. It's rare to find a pair of these Dutch modernist plywood chairs that were produced in the early 1950s. The design of these chairs is very elegant and does not show that they are a design of the 50s, since they look a lot more modern than they really are. The perfect neutral, yet sculptural chair for any kind of vintage, modernist of contemporary project. In excellent original condition. Newly upholstered by a professional craftsman in high-quality, textured velours fabric. Check out our Daddy Deco...

Pair of Eugenio Gerli Model 126 Lounge Chairs Società Compensati Curvi, Italy
Located in Hellouw, NL
These beautiful bentwood chairs were designed in 1958 by the Italian architect Eugenio Gerli for Società Compensatie Curvi. This company, which was located in Monza at the time, specialized in manufacturing highly stylized chairs made of bentwood with a modular choice offered to the customer. For example, there was a catalog showing that at that time you could choose from different types of bases and bodies. These specific lounge chairs are made up of seven layers of glued and bent teak veneer. A special example of craftsmanship and artistry in which technique and aesthetics effortlessly come together. The body is attached to a beautiful slender black-painted metal base by means of four bolts. The considerable contrast between the base and the seating area seems to make the chair float. The opening at the back of the seat allows for an angelic light...
