A superb and complete four-piece Mid-Century Modern living room suite designed by Hartmut Lohmeyer and produced in Germany by Wilkhahn. Elegant, restrained and beautifully proportioned, the suite embodies the refined German interpretation of Scandinavian Modern design at its finest. The set comprises a two-seat sofa, one high-back lounge armchair and two low-back lounge armchairs — each piece sharing a finely sculpted teak frame with slender, tapering legs and gracefully shaped open arms, the timber having acquired a rich, darkened patina with age. The varying silhouettes across the suite create a dynamic yet harmonious grouping, the sofa and low-back chairs offering a relaxed, inviting presence while the high-back chair provides a note of quiet authority — all retaining the crisp architectural lines and understated sophistication that define Lohmeyer's work. The seats and backs are uniformly upholstered in a chic textured tweed fabric, evocative of classic Chanel tailoring, providing a handsome contrast to the warm teak frames throughout.
