Pierre Paulin Model F678 Spider Lounge Chair, Artifort, Netherlands, Circa 1965

About the Item

Exceptional 20th century design lounge chair model F678, also known as the Spider Lounge Chair. This piece was designed by Pierre Paulin and manufactured by Artifort Furniture Company of the Netherlands, circa 1965. The unique hexagonal shape of this chair is made up of a lacquered and jointed wood base with six plywood stringers and a series of woven nylon rope supporting an ivory woven wool upholstered foam cushion. The design creates an extremely comfortable lounge chair within a suspended nest. The base is in its original vintage condition and the cushion was recently reupholstered in the ivory woven wool fabric. The combination of the white lacquered base and ivory wool cushion create a beautiful tone on tone neutral look perfect for any decor.
