Rare Art Deco Lounge Chair by Louis Sognot for Primavera

About the Item

1920's Art Deco Lounge Chair
Located in Brno, CZ
This is an original lounge chair believed to be produced in the 1920s and designed in the Art Deco style. The compact design and decor of this chair is somehow similar to the work of artists and architects of the Wiener Werkstätte group at the beginning of the 20th Century. We have not come across a chair like this one before, and sadly its actual designer is currently unknown to us. The firm rectangular frame of solid dark oak wood together with the chamfered back legs covered in a distinct light brown elm veneer are the main design features. The seat is covered with red colour leather cushion and is pinned with small round metal nails. The backrest has got a dark brown cushion in the middle which is visible from both sides. This chair was sourced from one of the old Villa houses...
