This award-winning leather and wood sling chair is the inaugural piece designed by Fernweh Woodworking. The frame is hand-shaped from high quality White Ash, providing rich warm brown tones with sleek joinery inspired by Danish and Scandinavian design. Slung with high quality, comfortable, hand-stitched Olive leather, this chair will make a statement in any room. Available in three wood finishes: walnut, charcoal, white ash. With three leather sling options: black, brown, olive.
This Mid-Century Modern Danish chair design won two awards from the Oregon Chapter of the International Interior Design Association's 2017 Design Excellence Awards. It won Best in Category: Maker, and also the People's Choice Award, in addition to being named “The World’s Most Beautiful Chair” by acclaimed interior designer Emily Henderson.

Fernweh Woodworking
Justin founded Fernweh Woodworking in 2015 in Bend, OR. He developed the Sling Chair and Tripod Table in 2017, a process sparking his desire to develop a line of handcrafted furniture. The Oxbend and Fjoon Collections arrived in 2020 and 2023; Fernweh Woodworking now offers furniture for every room in a house. He is inspired by the design philosophy and work ethic of Sam Maloof, and admires the legacy and designs of Hans Wegner and the Eames, among many others. ‘ Justin studied business at Purdue University and joined the Marine Corps, deploying on an advisory team for Afghan Police. After joining a hotshot fire crew in OR, he took up woodworking.
