Irish or English, circa 1900.
The original George II period chair, featuring the same legs, is in the former Frederick Parker collection (inv. no. FPF112), now at London Metropolitan University.
The brown leather close-nailed upholstered back and seat over acanthus and volute-headed cabriole legs with pierced inscrolled eagles' heads to the knees, terminating in finely detailed claw-and-ball feet, unusually pierced to emphasise the claw grip. Back legs stamped '7670'.
