Iconic Vladimir Kagan ‘Serpentine’ Ottoman in Off-White Upholstery

About the Item

Vladimir Kagan, ottoman, model ‘Serpentine’, off-white Alcantara upholstery, chrome, United States, design 1950 The Serpentine ottoman, designed by Vladimir Kagan (1927-2016), exemplifies minimalist elegance with its impeccably balanced circular form. The thick seat is upholstered in luxurious Alcantara, featuring an off-white tone that enhances its natural and calm appeal. The generously sized ottoman emphasizes the distinctive style and invites users to lounge and relax in ultimate comfort. Vladimir Kagan (1927-2016) was born in Germany and grew up in the United States where his father opened a cabinet shop. Later, Kagan joined the family business. Here the designer experimented with organically sculpted wood in works that became the hallmarks of his career. Kagan himself explained that his father always said 'Measure three times and cut once' whereas Kagan did exactly the opposite. He also believed that there was no way that ratio could replace dumb luck. Kagan's furniture has the extraordinary ability to completely change the landscape of the room, even with a single object. Kindly note that the piece is in good condition with signs of age and use, including some stains. For further details, we encourage you to reach out to our team of design specialists.
