Restored Antique William IV Burr Walnut Brown Leather Chesterfield Ottoman Stool

About the Item

We are delighted to offer this absolutely exquisite two-person large ottoman that has been fully restored in Burr Walnut with brown leather panels and Chesterfield tufting This is the finest ottoman you will ever come across, restored to a gallery perfect standard. It is William IV circa 1830, the main frame is walnut, the external timber is burr & burl walnut, the body panels are leather with leather to the seat. The corners of the frame are beautifully carved as are the bun feet, the piece retains its original castors, this is a work of art Restoration wise, the body panels and top cover were removed, the frame was then washed back and fully French polished by a Victorian trained polisher, the leather panels and top were all replaced with new, Italian cattle hide leather which was hand dyed six times this glorious whisky brown colour, they were then antiqued, sealed and waxed down, finally they were refitted, checked over and here we are! CONDITION Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
