Large Scale Sam Maloof Style Studio Craftsman Rocking Chair, Signed and Dated

About

An incredibly stunning large scale studio rocking chair by Charles Jacobs, signed and dated 11-8-85. This monumental Sam Maloof style craftsman chair was handcrafted with solid, heavily grained, hardwood, which was expertly finished with generous deep grain and vivid color. Expert studio joinery showcases the high-quality and meticulous build on this Sam Maloof styled armchair. The extremely large scale (52" in height and 45.5" deep) of this Maloof style rocker provides an exaggerated look that you would normally find in Postmodern design but within this Craftsman. Long accentuated legs taper in the back. Sculpted arms and back spindles give a sinister look to design. If you need a wider chair - this one is 31" wide giving ample space and comfort. This Sam Maloof rocking armchair would work great in a Craftsman home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Mid-Century Modern, Arts & Crafts, contemporary or Postmodern room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Classical, Industrial or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. With such unique style, this rocker by Charles Jacobs would also be an Apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge, members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office. Consider using as a throne chair, lounge chair, side chair, occasional chair, consider even for a dressing room. Would be great as a reading armchair or a rocking chair to soak in a view. Very good to excellent condition, no issues or flaws, stunning beauty in every detail. Sturdy and structurally sound, no breaks, cracks or loose joinery. Only a few small marks, nicks or scratches noticeable upon close inspection. Ready to be used immediately and placed into a magazine-cover-worthy residential or commercial design project. Measurements: H 52" x W 31" x D 45.5" Seat height 14.5" Arm height 25".
