Mid Century Modern vintage sofa or daybed model Constanze from black quilted leather with chromed metal feet designed by Johannes Spalt 1961 for Wittmann, Austria.
Easy to handle by one hand to make the change from sofa to daybed.
Iconic statement piece, which also could use as freestanding sofa through its beautiful backside.
The black quilted leather upholstery shows leather buttons and is in well patinated condition, while the chromed metal feet are characterized through minor signs of age.
The sofa works perfect with contemporary environment as well as mid century modern interiors.
Johannes Spalt ( 1920 - 2010 ) famed Austrian architect.
He had great partnerships with Wilhelm Holzbauer, Friedrich Kurrent and Otto Leitner and created many furniture designs for Wittmann furniture workshop.
