Superb Carved Gilded 19th Century Louis XV French Provencal Sofa
About the Item
Superb quality, elegant, 19th century French Louis XV canape, settee or sofa, reupholstered in neutal creamy fabric. It has a beautifully shaped giltwood frame with a lovely flowing Rococo style, serpentine front and cabriole legs, front and rear. All the frame has been ornately carved to a high standard. The gold gilt paint is aged and exquisite, with some of the red bole showing through. This is one of a kind!
