Han Pieck Plywood Bambi Chair Rare and Early Dutch Design, the Netherlands, 1946

About

Rare and iconic Dutch plywood chair model BAMBI, designed by Han Pieck, The Netherlands 1945-1946 produced by Morris & Co. Since there was no Dutch furniture manufacturer who was able to produce this chair at the time (1946) - due to the difficult and expensive production process from single sheets of plywood- Pieck had the chair produced by Morris & Co from 1948 in Glasgow UK. Only 200 pieces of these chairs were produced. A true museum piece! In very good original condition with a warm patine. Han Pieck designed both the LaWo chair and this Bambi chair. Both are made out of one piece of plywood . Literature: Dung Ngo, Eric Pfeiffer, "Bent Ply : The Art of Plywood Furniture", Princeton Architectural Press, 2005, p. 114. A very desirable piece of furniture from the mid-century modern design collection curated by Visavu. We offer worldwide delivery options in a variety of services, suitable for all your preferences.
