Pair of Solid Ebony Side Chairs


A pair of 19th century solid ebony chairs carved through in low relief with foliate decoration. The back splat fashioned as delicately turned spindles. Standing on turned legs at the front and sabre ones at the back. The blocks underneath with the makers stamp J. Whitehead for the retailers Scotts of Edinburgh, Scotland, circa 1860. ​Measures: Seat height 17 ins (43 cms), back height 37 ins (94cms), width 17 ins (43cms).
