Halabala H-215 Bauhaus Sofa for UP Zavody

About the Item

This classic of Bauhaus and Czech functionalism is in good condition. The oak frame shows slight signs of wear. The side panels on this model are finished with chrome bars which have an attractive patina. The bottom of the sofa under the seat cushions can be moved up using a tilting mechanism and offers space for blankets, cushions, etc. The cushions probably still have the original cover and show clear signs of wear, such as abrasion. The well-known architect Jindrich Halabala designed this H-215 sofa in 1929 for the Czech furniture manufacturer UP Zavody, which implemented various of his designs.
