Large Vintage Howard & Son's Oxblood Leather Fully Stamped Chesterfield Sofa

About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning, lightly restored vintage Oxblood leather Chesterfield Tufted club sofa by Howard & Son's which is fully stamped. This sofa is pretty much one of the most comfortable Chesterfields I have ever sat on, not surprising given that Howard & Son's have a reputation for making the most comfortable seating in the world. It is fully sprung and horse hair padded, the seat cushions are feather filled and very nice. The sofa was upholstered around 10 years ago with this lovely Oxblood leather, I can have this upholstery fully restored to include being hand a dyed a wonderful Bordeaux colour should the new owners wish, I have left it as it is because the colour is very Regency and I love it The sofa has the original Howard label to the hessian base and two of the legs are stamped Howard Chairs LTD London England. Condition wise we have deep cleaned, hand condition waxed and hand polished it from top to bottom, there will be some normal age and use related patina marks here and there, mostly its in very fine order indeed Dimensions Height 85cm Width 252.5cm Depth 100cm Seat height:- 48.5cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point. This item is available for collection from our Pulborough warehouses. CONDITION Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
