Matching Pair of Original George Smith Signature Scroll Arm Two Seat Sofas

About the Item

We are delighted to offer this lovely pair of George Smith Signature Scroll arm sofas with massive overstuffed feather filled cushions George Smith Chelsea make some of the finest hand made in England sofas based on traditional English designs. There sofas come in three depths, this is the medium depth The sofas are made from solid oak and have Victorian style coil sprung bases and overstuffed feather filled cushions. The cushions are huge, they are specially designed to recess under the back rest of the sofa inside the frame, what that means is you are never sitting on the back edge of the cushion so it doesn't sink as much The pair have been fully and professionally upholstery cleaned from top to bottom. There are some light variations in colour with the fabric. To my eyes the upholstery looks perfectly usable, there may be the odd little mark here or there, but you would have to look very very close to see them. My plan was to reupholster the pair in a nice Colefax and Fowler Damask fabric, at the moment my upholsterers are busy until kingdom come so these are being listed as they are for a much reduced rate Dimensions Height:- 80cm Width:- 150cm Depth:- 99cm frame only, 107cm including cushion overhang Seat height:- 54cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, This item is available for collection from our Pulborough warehouses RH20 1DF. CONDITION Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
