PK22 in Cane by Poul Kjærholm for E Kold Christensen
Located in Saint Paul, MN
This is a rare early edition PK22 by famed Danish designer, Poul Kjærholm. Manufactured by Ejvind Kold Christensen, this model long predates any current models available from Fritz Hansen. Kjærholm's designs are know for their architectural nature and the PK22 is no different. The bent steel legs and frame serve as the framework for delicately woven cane whose warmth is a juxtaposition to the sterility of the steel. The cane is perfectly patinated and pairs well with the oxidized steel frame that is missing some of the finish. This is a true collector's item that can be used for many years. Confluence...

PK 31/2 Sofa by Poul Kjaerholm for E. Kold Christensen, Denmark, 1958
Located in Amsterdam, NL
Stunning two-seat sofa "PK 31/2" designed by Poul Kjaerholm, manufactured for E. Kold Christensen in Denmark, 1958. The sofa is upholstered in nice quality cognac leather on a beautiful chrome metal base. The seating cushions have been renewed some years ago, the rest of the sofa is original. This iconic piece of Danish design would make a great eyecatcher in any interior. In good condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. Poul Kjærholm (January 8, 1929 – April 18, 1980) was a Danish designer. Born in Øster Vrå, Denmark, Kjærholm began as a cabinetmaker's apprentice with Gronbech in 1948, going on to the Danish School of Arts and Crafts in Copenhagen in 1952. In 1953, he married Hanne Kjærholm who became a successful architect. He was very articulate and with his natural authority he started an outstanding career as an educator in the same year (1952) but continued to study with Prof. Erik Herløw and Prof. Palle Suenson. From the mid-1950s he worked for his friend Ejvind Kold Christiansen, an entrepreneur who, giving him tremendous artistic freedom, produced an extensive range of his furniture. His distinctive style is evident as early as 1952 in his PKO minimalist plywood...
