About the Item

An elegant Empire Swedish Karl Johan sofa with graceful lines in mahogany with satinwood line inlay, ormolu and ebonized details. Offers scrolled arms and saber feet with upholstered seat, back and inside arms. Tight upholstery, no cushions. There is a pair of original bolster pillows that were re-covered. This sofa has been re-upholstered. New upholstery includes fresh jute strapping, springs re-sewn to straps, then 8 way hand tied. With fresh cotton batting and a layer of thin high density foam for comfort. Sofa back was upholstered after reinforcement. Fabric is a Robert Allen 100% cotton twill. All original forms were used for accurate upholstery and authenticity. Note: You should always request a shipping quote.
