About the Item
Update: This is the sofa which is part of the group with two armchairs. The armchairs were published recently on 1stdibs magazine for a stunning home made by Ray Azoulay. Small curved sofa with an incredible care for details.
Brass legs are in casting fusion and are probably made to represent fish or reptile skin.
The quality of stitching and curves on the back are indicating a Brianza manufacturing, looking at details, the curve of the seat and on the back, has many Features of Casa and Giardino production. Is it Gio Ponti?. There are many analogies.
From the beautiful Noto. Carries the color of the sun. A beautiful mustard velvet with a terracotta back.
I sent the chairs (there is also two side seats and a love seat in this group) to the upholsterer, the same who did other lounge chairs and worked for Minotti. He called me saying that these should not be restored, so well made.
Velvet shows its age of course, has such an incredible color. Note on the front, on the right lowest part. There is a brown spot that I was not able to remove. See last picture for detail.
