About the Item

Vintage RARE Modernist Design PJ-SI-68-A Sewing Stool Set by Pierre Jeanneret for the midcentury Chandigarh project. Made in India, 1950's / 60's period. Designed as part of the original furnishings for the government buildings in Chandigarh. Each stool designed by Pierre Jeanneret, each with a distinct patina that highlights its unique history. The seat feature original inscriptions that indicate their place of origin, enhancing their authenticity. The reference numbers refer to the place they were used. This one has developed a dense warm patina consistent with more than 60 years of use. lightly restored
