About the Item

Offcut Collection Lærke Ryom 2021 (signed) (Please see more object from this collection in other listings) Danish furniture designer Lærke Ryom explores the aesthetics of end grain and is made with the intention of emphasizing the potential and value of the byproduct from Dinesen’s flooring production. The rhythmic shapes, characterizing the fourteen objects, originates from the existing width and sizes determined by the production. Considering the patterning appearing when offsetting and stacking material elements, the collection pays tribute to the natural ornamentation of the grain. Both shape and ornament thereby originate from the material itself, offering a new aesthetic perspective and experience of the familiar material. Offcut Collection is made of Douglas offcuts kindly granted by Dinesen.
